Freeeedom!

Yesterday the Secondary TEP had our Capstone event. We all got together ("all," being students, professors, and Penn mentors) and grad students shared the work we completed and produced in our portfolios. This was the last official event for the year (besides graduation).

So the deal on the Portfolios is this. Waaaaay back in January we came up with some inquiry questions about our practice as teachers. The questions deal with anything from classroom management to how to utilize group work in lessons. We then selected a question to be the focus of our "inquiry," and have spent the last few months researching our questions, both in the classroom where we are student teaching and in published documentation. The compilation of our research was the portfolio. I chose to research "relevance," in the classroom, but topics ran the gamut.

It was interesting to hear about everyone's work, eat some (free) food, and just hang out.

The next big event on the agenda is graduation (May 15th). In between now and then I will continuing my job hunt!

Thanks for reading my blog this year! Best of luck to you in the future!!!
